Hexacta’s professional Santiago Avendaño gave a lecture next to Dr. Andrés Rieznik during WISIT 2014 at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional on the FOP-ARSAT project.

On November 29th, Santiago Avendaño participated in the second annual Workshop de Ingeniería en Sistemas y Tecnologías de la Información (WISIT) by presenting with Dr. Andrés Rieznik our Free Optics Project using Python. Approximately 50 software engineers attended the lecture.

ARSAT is an Argentinean leading provider of telecommunication and satellite solutions services, and has a strategic role in the implementation of the State policies in matters of telecommunications, broadcasting and internet.

One of its main goals is to increase the satellite services, broadcasting and telecommunication presentations in the country, for public, private and government applications. Among the ARSAT projects, REFEFO (Red Federal de Fibra Óptica, Fiber Optic Federal Network) intends to provide the whole country with a fiber optic network outline. To make this possible, it is necessary to put the pretended web into use, which is where Hexacta comes in, by providing resources to test the different proposals of the route implementation suppliers.

WISIT is an event organized by Uqbar Project , a group of professors, researchers and students from different universities in Argentina who want to push innovation and spread the voice on computer science. The goal of the event is to create an opened space for communication, debate and students, professors, researchers and engineers interested in technology innovation and research.
